Ecological Products of Ethiopia, (ECOPIA) is a social company that orchestrates the value chain of organic food, cosmetics and herbal production, processing and marketing. The head quarter is in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Essentially, ECOPIA is involved in the commercial movement of organic food from field to the consumers. We bring a product from its conception to its end use consisting of the input suppliers, producers, processors and buyers. We address the major constraints at each level of the supply; demand and net work chain, rather than concentrating on just one group (e.g., producers and processors) or on one geographical location.

Organic guava, mango, mixed fruit jams.
Our organic jams and organic fruit curds are made from whole, seasonal fruits and are soft set and bursting with flavour. They contain no artificial additives or thickeners.
Ecopia use natural herbs, spices, sun-dried fruits and natural extracts to flavour the oil. This method preserves the nutritional value of our 100% cold-pressed organic oil because we are able to completely avoid heating of the oil and still create these wonderful flavoured oils.
Under Ecopia Organic guidelines, vegetables and fruits (plants) are expertly hand-weeded, making the use of chemicals unnecessary.
Milk was tested in USA from cows who were farmed organically and conventionally. The study found cows farmed organically produced milk which was, on average, 50% higher in Vitamin E than conventionally produced milk. Dear Sir, Dear Madam,
I am a third year student at ISTOM (www.istom.net), a French college of inter-tropical agro-economic development, including a wide range of development related sciences as agronomy, ecology, economy and anthropology. I have to realize a three month work placement this summer, in a company whose activities take place in a tropical country.
I would like to realize my internship in Ethiopia, in a company which promotes organic productions. Indeed, I am interested in organic goods’ production, conservation and transformation issues, especially in developing countries as Ethiopia. To my mind, these subjects concern ECOPIA, which process a wide range of ecological food, cosmetic and herbal products and participated to the “organic chain development in Ethiopia” workshop.
This year, I have studied tropical agronomics, food technologies, quality control and other subject centered on sustainable development. Moreover, I worked six weeks in an organic farm, so I know this production way, and I listed peasant’s organizations in Cameroon during two month. I therefore think that I am able to adapt to several situations and to exchange easily with people.
I am sure I could realize a really satisfying work with ECOPIA. Should you have any openings for me I would appreciate your sending some details. Meanwhile I remain at your disposal in case you require any complementary information.
With my thanks in advance for your assistance.
Your Faithfully
Charlotte MARX

Hallo Andi!
Tut mir leid, bin inzwischen schon seit einem halben Jahr wieder in Deutschland und werde in nächster Zeit auch nicht zurück nach Äthiopien kommen.
Grüße, Julius
